Tamara Gonzales

Tamara is a lifetime athlete with many athletic talents and accomplishments. Her sporting interests are biking, running, hiking, volleyball, golfing and tennis. Her athletics started in her youth when, at the age of 9, she was declared a national gymnastics champion. Due to injury she then turned to semi-pro volleyball in the sand, grass and indoors. Cycling was in her genes however, as her Grandmother, Margaret Nolan, who was a 7 time National Masters Time-trial Champion moved Tamara's focus to cycling where she grew from a Cat 3-4 to professional racing. She raced successfully for over seven years. Today, although she no longer races professionally, she is a regular on the roads around San Diego where she can still be seen looking glamorous but beating all the boys!

Among the many sports that Tamara enjoys you will also find her active in a philanthropic capacity. Whether its training the volunteers in cycling for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society of San Diego and Hawaii or volunteering herself as a multiple year cycling participant in the Dodge Million Dollar Challenge - 630 miles, San Francisco to San Diego in 7 days to support the Challenged Athletes Foundation , or riding over 100 miles at the de Tour to Tuscon for Cancer awareness with her friends. She still finds time to be on the Board of Directors of the Carlsbad Boys and Girls Club and participates in inner city youth efforts while on the Marshall Faulk Foundation Advisory Board.

So, on a moonlit night you just might find her looking down on you while hiking to the top of Iron Mountain or she may smile at you while she takes her morning run or even wave to you atop her bike on one of her many cycling rides down the California Coast.......Athletic, competitive, charitable and glamorous! She embodies everything that Active Angelz is all about!
