Aurora is driven, passionate, and inspiring.
Her introduction to triathlons came when she volunteered to hand out water at the Kona Ironman World Championships in 1991. She was amazed at how these incredible athletes did something that seemed impossible. In 2009, she has diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis(MS) and was told that she would be in a wheelchair in 5 years. She thought back to her day in Kona and even though she was in no shape for a triathlon, she was determined to complete one. Triathlons and other lifestyle changes have helped her stay healthy and free of typical MS symptoms. She is inspired everyday by people, who like her, have overcome something in their lives and have come out stronger! She loves to be an example and demonstrates to everyone that no matter what bad things come your way in life you can overcome anything! She is a mother to 4 children, Public Speaker and Coordinator of the Multiple Sclerosis Fitness Challenge which hosts events all over the country and gives free gym memberships, trainers and nutritional support to anyone in the area with MS. She educates people to fight MS though health and fitness!
